Lukashenko lays wreath at Victory Monument in Minsk
MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko laid a wreath at the Victory Monument in Minsk on Fatherland Defender’s Day and the Day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
Flowers were also laid on behalf of public administration bodies, courts, the National Assembly, the Security Council and the Armed Forces, law enforcement bodies, the Minsk City Council and the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, the Orthodox Church and the Roman-Catholic Church, big social organizations of Belarus, veterans, diplomats, the CIS Executive Committee.
After a minute of silence and the National Anthem of Belarus there was a show of the Guard of Honor and the orchestra of the military command of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
In conclusion the head of state talked to the diplomats who were present at the event.
