Lukashenko calls for preserving unity of Union State, EEU in face of economic challengesMOSCOW, 15 December (BelTA) – We should not let economic challenges divide the countries of the Belarus-Russia Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko told journalists after his meeting with Russia President Vladimir Putin on 15 December, BelTA has learned.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the development of integration. “The economic challenges we are facing at this difficult time should not disconnect the countries that are signatories to the agreements on the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

Both Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin expressed satisfaction with the present state and results of cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the international arena. The relations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs can serve as an example to follow for other Belarusian and Russian government agencies, the Belarusian leader noted.

Summing up the results of the talks, Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that all the matters that needed close consideration were given due attention. He added that a couple of matters will be finalized during the week, and the governments will make relevant decisions.
