MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) – Belarusians do not need turmoil, wars, and revolutions. Belarusians do not need speculations over democracy and human rights, BelTA learned from the congratulatory address released by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of Belarus Independence Day.
The address reads: “We have time-tested ideals and values of our own. We will not tolerate forced ideas. Today we can say for sure that the Belarus of the 21st century is a stable country walking a path of independent development.”
The president stressed that Belarus is a country of peace and accord. The Belarusians are united in making their country stronger and working hard to reach this goal.
Alexander Lukashenko described 3 July as a day of glory and honor, a day of remembrance of the past and pride in the present. “The Belarusian people courageously defended their homeland from aggressors. We have made our way toward independence through wars and devastation, through blood and tears of many generations. A lot has changed in recent years. The country and the people living here have changed. But the desire of every one of us to live in a free and peaceful state remains the same,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.
