Lukashenko: Belarus is proud of its Paralympians

MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Belarus President, President of the National Olympic Committee Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Belarusian Paralympic Committee, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The Paralympics ideals and values unite people who are brave and goal-driven, who believed in themselves and managed to win over their ailments. With the personal example they show how human reserves are limitless and how persistence and strength do wonders,” the message of congratulations says.

According to the head of state, the country is proud of the achievements of its Paralympic athletes in the international arena. Their successes have inspired a lot of people with disabilities. Every year more and more people with disabilities take up sports and follow a healthy lifestyle.

“Today one of the priority tasks for the Belarusian Paralympic Committee is the development of the sport infrastructure and a barrier-free access to sport facilities, and also the preparation of our athletes for the Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro,” stressed the President.

Alexander Lukashenko wished the Belarusian sport delegation every success and all the participants of the Paralympic movement the realization of their boundless abilities and glorious victories.
