Belarusian wins Google programming contest

MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – Gennady Korotkevich of Belarus came first in the finals of the programming contest Google Code Jam, BelTA has learned.

In the final part of the contest Gennady Korotkevich managed to solve five out of six tasks, spending 3 hours 59 minutes. The winner walked away with $15,000 and will be able to take part in the next year’s Google Code Jam finals. The final part of the programming competition gathered 26 programmers, including another Belarusian.

It is worth noting that Gennady Korotkevich won Google Code Jam 2014, too. Ivan Metelsky of Belarus won Google Code Jam 2013.

Google Code Jam is an international programming competition initially launched by Google in 2003. The programmers are invited to tackle a number of algorithmic tasks within a period of time.
