MOSCOW, 2 June (BelTA) – Belarusian filmmakers were awarded three prizes at the 24th International Slavonic Film Festival Zolotoy Vityaz (Golden Knight) held in Sevastopol from 22 May till 1 June, BelTA learned from the press center of the forum.
The animated film Spoon for the Soldier by Irina Tarasova got the Golden Knight statuette. The Silver Knight in the same nomination went to Rondo Capriccioso by Igor Volchek. Yelena Turova and her film for children The Kindervileyka Ghost received the Bronze Knight.
Belarusian filmmakers also got special prizes. Irina Tarasova’s Spoon for the Soldier was named best animation film for children. Another prize was awarded to Yekaterina Makhova for the documentary Father Herman about a man who found his faith. Igor Vasilyev and his debut work The In-Laws got a special prize for the caring attitude to the national literary tradition. Besides, director Sergei Kartier was awarded the prize of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State For Loyalty to Moral Ideals in Film Art.
The program of the festival featured around 200 films from 20 countries. The jury traditionally chose three winners in each of the six nominations and awarded them with the golden, silver, or bronze statuette. The film Two Women directed by the famous Russian actress Vera Glagoleva won the Grand Prix of the Zolotoy Vityaz festival.
