Belarus’ peace-loving policy amidst global instability emphasized
MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers as well as war veterans on Day of the Fatherland’s Defenders and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. The congratulation was read out by State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Stanislav Zas during the solemn meeting in the Palace of the Republic on 22 February, BelTA has learned.
In the congratulation the head of state pointed out that this holiday is a symbol of dedication to the military duty and the steadfastness of the Belarusian nation in the fight for freedom and independence of their native land.
“We bow low before the deeds committed by the Belarusians, who selflessly protected the land against invaders in times of war and ensured the security of our land in years of peace. We take pride in courage of the peacekeepers, who honorably stood up against international terrorism,” the text reads.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that in the current situation of global instability Belarus shows an example of a consistent peace-loving policy and demonstrates unwavering resolution to protect its national interests. The modern army as well as other military and defense forces guarantee the country’s protection against potential aggressors. “The existence of a powerful army in Belarus discourages anyone from talking to us from a position of strength,” Alexander Lukashenko is convinced.
The head of state wished good health, peace, and new accomplishments for the benefit of Belarus to everyone.

I congratulate you on the Day of Fatherland Defenders and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
This holiday is a symbol of loyalty to the military duty and the commitment of the Belarusian nation to protecting the freedom and independence of our Homeland.
We appreciate the feat of our compatriots who selflessly protected the native land from invaders during the war and did their best to ensure the security of the Homeland in peaceful years; we are proud of the courage of internationalist soldiers who stood against international terrorism.
In the current situation of global instability Belarus serves as an example of the consistent peace-loving policy and the firm resolution to protect its national interests. The modern Armed Forces, other military and paramilitary organizations are a guarantor of protection from possible aggressions. The strong Belarusian army does not allow anyone to talk to us from the position of strength.
I wish you strong health, peace, kindness, and new achievements for the benefit of the Homeland.
