Belarus is world's largest per capita exporter of information services

MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – Belarus is the current world’s leader in the per capita export of information services, First Deputy Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Andrei Kosovsky said at the 15th international conference IT and the State Scientific and Technical Information System Development (RINTI-2016) at the United Institute of Informatics Problems at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

According to Andrei Kosovsky, such a result would not have been achieved without the scientists’ efforts in the area. “It is in the IT area where this very special environment has been created for thinking and creation,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee.

In his words, the State Science and Technology Committee will always seek funds to support the state scientific and technical information system.

The 15th international conference IT and the State Scientific and Technical Information System Development (RINTI-2016) is taking place in the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Among its participants are leading IT specialists from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, who have gathered to discuss the state and issues related to the development of the IT sector and the state scientific and technical information system in Belarus and abroad. The participants of the forum are also discussing new approaches to the use of scientific methods for the IT development and matters pertaining to the designing of automated scientific and technical information systems, the creation of corporate library and information systems and technologies. The forum has been organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the United Institute of Informatics Problems, the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library, the State Science and Technology Committee, the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Informational Support of the Scientific and Technical Sector, the National Scientific and Technical Library, the Education Ministry, the Communications and Information Technology Ministry, the Belarusian State University, and others.
