MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – A traditional autumn marathon of academic and pop music has begun in the Belarusian capital to last till November 7.
The Grand Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic will host a total of 15 concerts. Performers from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Germany and the USA will deliver vivid emotions to the Belarusian public.
On 20 October the project was opened by a performance by outstanding pianists: USSR People’s Artist Nikolai Petrov and Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Gindin accompanied by Francis Poulenc’s orchestra. Minsk audiophiles rejoiced at listening to masterpieces of French romantic music.
On 21 October the marathon will be taken over by the outstanding Israeli duo of Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg (both the musicians hold scholarships of culture foundations of the USA and Israel). Belarusian performers will also take part in the concert.
Accompanied by the I. Zhinovich National Academic People’s Orchestra of Belarus and the symphonic orchestra Young Belarus of the Belarusian Music Academy, Piotr Yelfimov will appear in an unusual role in the exam concert Magister. More of a pop singer, Piotr Yelfimov will perform classics, which he does as professionally according to experts.
Arkady Shilkloper will appear in Minsk as a guest. He will deliver his new jazz program on 27 October. The program uses an abundance of various wind instruments.
On 28 October the public is in for a fairy show of piano accordions and accordions as laureate of international contests Igor Kvashevich will perform in Minsk.
A concert of 31 October will turn the understanding of many people about balalaika upside down. “Paganini of balalaika” Andrei Gorbachev will perform at the Belarusian State Philharmonic.
A performance of the National Concert Orchestra of Belarus conducted by People’s Artist of Belarus, Professor Mikhail Finberg is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birthday of USSR People’s Artist Yevgeny Glebov. “An invitation to the childhood land” of the State Academic Symphonic Orchestra of Belarus is dedicated to the same date.
A concert of organistic music is scheduled for 5 November. US organist Ronald Ebrecht tours all over the world.
The number of outstanding concerts also includes a performance by the New Russian Quartet. Each of the members is recognized in Belarus as an individual musician. The New Russian Quartet of violinists Yulia Igonina and Yelena Kharitonova, violist Alexander Galkovsky and cellist Aleksei Steblev will perform works by Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms.
Popular songs of Vladimir Mulyavin’s music band Pesnyary will be performed by Belarusian pop singers on 6 November. The concert is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the famous band.
The closing ceremony of the 36th international art festival Belarusian Musical Autumn will take place on 7 November. The final concert will be performed by the G. Tsitovich National Academic People’s Choir of Belarus conducted by Belarus People’s Artist, Professor Mikhail Drinevsky.
The Belarusian Musical Autumn festival is organized by the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Belarusian State Philharmonic.
