2023 CIS Games: Belarusian Mariya Gnedchik secures champion title

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian State University of Physical Education in Minsk is hosting the modern pentathlon tournament of the 2^nd CIS Games, BelTA has learned.

The U19 tournament comprises fencing, swimming, laser run. The first final of the competition program featured 18 athletes, including eight Belarusians. Russia’s Victoria Sazonova was leading 44 seconds following the fencing and swimming events.

Belarusian athletes Mira Buraya and Mariya Gnedchik covered almost a one-minute lag during the laser run event. Mariya Gnedchik crossed the finish line first. Silver went to Mira Buraya. Russia’s Victoria Sazonova collected bronze.
