Rapota: Interest in Great Patriotic War does not weaken

MOSCOW, 30 July (BelTA) – The interest in the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic Way is not weakening, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota said at the Minsk-Moscow video conference “70 Years of Peace: Lessons of the War and the History of the Common Victory” on 30 July, BelTA informs.

According to Grigory Rapota, all the events planned for 2015 in the Union State, especially those with the social and youth focus, are dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory.

The participants of the video conference summed up the results of the contest for the best lesson on the history of the Great Patriotic War. According to Grigory Rapota, holding such creative contests is important both for teachers, and for the upbringing of the younger generation. The aim of the contest, he said, was to convey the historical truth and to pay tributes to those who achieved the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Such contest was held for the second time. Last year it was dedicated to the First World War. Grigory Rapota assured that the contests for the best history lesson will be held in the Union State in the future. "Historical themes are inexhaustible," said Grigory Rapota.
