MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) - The visit of European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn to Belarus has been postponed, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told BelTA when asked to confirm that the visit would not happen.
“We have received a notification from the EU saying that the visit of Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn to Belarus has been postponed in connection with the unexpected but very important preparatory meetings in the run-up to the session of the European Council this week,” Dmitry Mironchik said.
“We regret that the visit has been postponed. The Belarusian side is interested in continuing and developing cooperation with the European Union,” he added.
