Upcoming events, regional agenda: Lukashenko hears report from Krutoi

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko heard a report from Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi on 18 July, BelTA has learned.
The head of state was briefed on the schedule of events for the coming week, which will focus on the harvest campaign, the implementation of investment projects with foreign partners, and personnel matters. The outcomes of recent working trips to the regions were reviewed, and the planning of Aleksandr Lukashenko’s future visits to the regions was discussed.
Next week, the president plans to hold a conference call on the progress of the harvest campaign. This topic is always relevant, especially given this year’s high yields, which for the most part are still in the fields. They need to be harvested on time and, importantly, preserved. Taking weather conditions into account, the head of state emphasized the need for well-coordinated work of the grain drying facilities. Aleksandr Lukashenko also instructed not to slow down the pace of forage harvesting.
Separately, Aleksandr Lukashenko raised the issue of ensuring that the harvest campaign is fully supplied with fuel. There are no problems in this area, but a specially established working group has uncovered cases of fuel theft. The president stressed the unacceptability of such incidents, particularly given the shortage of fuel resources in the region and the world.
A meeting is also planned on the progress of key investment projects involving Belarus abroad. These issues will be discussed in the context of implementing high-level agreements with key partners in Asia and Africa, including the outcomes of Aleksandr Lukashenko’s recent high-level visit. The head of state considers the pace of implementation of a number of planned projects insufficient, particularly those needed to establish a foothold in new markets.
Regarding personnel matters, the focus will be on the local governance structure. Candidates for consideration were discussed with the president during the report. Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that he will continue to place serious emphasis on shifting management pressure downward - to the level of district executive committee chairpersons. This is linked to measures to enhance their role and authority in the development of their respective districts.
Dmitry Krutoi briefed the president on the drafting of an action plan based on the outcomes of the president’s working visits to Shklov District and Orsha District. One of the issues to be addressed in the document concerns soil liming. The head of state considers this project, in terms of its importance, to be on par with land reclamation tasks. The action plan will also include issues related to the implementation of cooperation agreements with Uzbekistan.
The final thematic block of the report concerned preparations for Aleksandr Lukashenko’s further work in the oblasts. The head of state is expected to visit Brest Oblast and Gomel Oblast, where he plans to review the implementation of innovative projects, the development of farms, and evaluate the performance of a domestically produced baler.
Krutoi: Lukashenko will host harvest conference call next week
MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko will hold a conference call on the harvest campaign next week. The head of state’s event schedule was one of the topics covered in the report by Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi on 18 July, BelTA has learned.
“The first block of issues concerned the president’s upcoming work schedule. The highlight next week will be the traditional and crucial harvest conference call. The president has conducted a fairly comprehensive review of this event and has examined the relevant documents,” Dmitry Krutoi said.
He noted that over the past few days, the head of state got familiar with the situation in the fields during his regional visits, including from a helicopter. “He noted that the crop is no worse than last year’s level. Our task is to harvest it,” the head of the Belarus President Administration said.
Dmitry Krutoi recalled that last year a record grain harvest of over 11 million tonnes was achieved, including corn and rapeseed. “It will not be easy to match that as a baseline target. But given that as of this morning we have already harvested the first million tonnes, and yields are 10% higher than last year, the president sees the main goal as achieving a modest increase,” he said.
Such ambitious harvest targets are linked to the active development of livestock farming in Belarus, which requires an appropriate feed base. “The president recalled how back in the mid-1990s we dreamed of 5-5.5 million tonnes, and today we view last year’s level as a baseline target. This speaks to the importance of the agricultural sector for the country’s economy and the attention it rightly receives,” the head of the Belarus President Administration emphasized.
One of the features of this year’s campaign is the simultaneous execution of a large number of tasks. In particular, the head of state instructed not to slow down the pace of grass forage harvesting, given the favorable weather conditions. At the same time, the media often raises the topic of unpredictable weather, so one of the topics of the conference call will be the operation of grain drying facilities.
“Perhaps in previous years they were not used to the extent that will be needed now. But this issue will be the focus of close attention, because one day of downtime at such a facility means slower harvesting, crop losses, and grain with higher moisture content than the standards allow. This sets off a whole chain of consequences,” Dmitry Krutoi noted.
A separate issue in the report was ensuring the harvest campaign is fully supplied with fuel. Krutoi reveals Lukashenko’s upcoming personnel agenda
MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is set to consider candidates for local government leadership positions at the upcoming personnel review, Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi told the media following his report to the head of state on 18 July, BelTA has learned.
According to Dmitry Krutoi, a personnel review is scheduled in the president’s calendar for the near future. During the report, candidates submitted for the president’s consideration were discussed.
“The president said that continued emphasis will be placed on shifting management responsibility downward - to the level of district executive committee chairpersons,” Dmitry Krutoi emphasized. “The tasks the president constantly sets when visiting districts - concerning the restoration of basic organizations, personnel monitoring, and retaining specialists in local communities - will remain in the spotlight. All decisions to simplify and stimulate economic activity at the local level will be taken without delay.”
The head of the Belarus President Administration noted that during the current five-year term, a detailed review will be conducted on how local government leaders are exercising the powers delegated to them.
Krutoi announces Lukashenko’s upcoming regional trips
MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) - The next regions Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko plans to visit are Brest Oblast and Gomel Oblast, Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi told the media following his report to the head of state on 18 July, BelTA has learned.
One of the topics covered in Dmitry Krutoi’s report was the president’s future work in the regions. “Next on our agenda are likely Brest Oblast and Gomel Oblast. In Brest Oblast, the performance of our fully localized, import-substituting baler will be demonstrated. The president wants to hear completely honest information about the component composition of this machine that we have produced,” Dmitry Krutoi emphasized.
The head of the Belarus President Administration noted that in Brest Oblast this baler was compared with other similar-class machines. “It is clear that this is a completely new product. It would be difficult to expect it to perform at the level of global counterparts from the very start. Nevertheless, I believe this will be an interesting development,” he said.
Also in focus will be the work of the Savushkin Product enterprise which has implemented a number of innovative projects that will be demonstrated to the head of state.
As for Gomel Oblast, the president plans to get familiar with the work of farming enterprises. This topic is of considerable importance given that farmers have a significant impact on the overall situation in the agricultural sector. “Specifically in crop farming, they have become a serious and influential force. The president wants to examine, using specific farming organizations as examples, how the system of incentives and subsidies is working. Perhaps farmers need some additional support, which will certainly be provided,” Dmitry Krutoi emphasized.
He noted that, in addition to crop farming, farmers also account for a significant share of vegetable and berry production and are actively involved in the stabilization fund system. “This segment will continue to receive support,” the head of the Belarus President Administration added.
During the report, the action plan based on the outcomes of the president’s trips to Shklov District and Orsha District was discussed. In addition to local issues, topics of national relevance were addressed - for example, soil liming, which, in the president’s view, is comparable in importance to land reclamation. “Land reclamation was discussed so that we do not lose momentum, because solid results were achieved in the previous five-year term,” Dmitry Krutoi emphasized.
According to him, one of the issues raised was the development of pedigree livestock farming, particularly red cattle. This topic often sparks justified debate over whether such cattle could become a growth point for the agricultural sector. “All these issues will be included in the relevant action plan. We discussed certain technical details with the president,” the head of the Belarus President Administration added.
