MOSCOW, 23 April (BelTA) – The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will have to decide on the matter of pricing gas transportation services on the common natural gas market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission after the latest session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

An extraordinary session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was held by videoconference on 23 April. The latest uncoordinated issues concerning the draft strategic directions of development of Eurasian economic integration till 2025 were discussed. Participants of the session adopted the wordings worked out by the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission on 20 April and 22 April to address three issues. The remaining issue deals with pricing gas transportation services on the common natural gas market of the Eurasian Economic Union and will have to be addressed by the heads of state of the EAEU member states.

According to Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, the sides managed to arrive at a consensus on those three issues in a difficult way. The first issue was the liberalization of international transportation by road. The second one was the development of flexible mechanisms for targeted assistance with economic development. The third one dealt with cooperation in the area of healthcare. Several debates about pricing gas transportation services on the common natural gas market took place. Unfortunately, no agreed wordings or decisions were worked out.

During the session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council the prime ministers presented their views on the matter. Then they decided to forward the issue for consideration of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The heads of state are expected to adopt the strategic directions of development of Eurasian economic integration till 2025 during the next session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on 19 May.
