Union State integration plan of action discussed

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ Prime Minister Sergei Rumas and State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota met in Minsk on 4 June to discuss an action plan on integration in the Union State, BelTA has learned.

The document needs to be prepared by 21 June. The corresponding agreement was reached at the talks between Segrei Rumas and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in May. The same goal was set forth by leaders of the two countries Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Union summit in Nur-Sultan. Once the parties find common ground on every matter, the heads of state are set to hold a meeting to discuss in detail all Russian-Belarusian issues and further bilateral cooperation.

“By 21 June we must have a coordinated renewed action plan. We currently agree on 70% of it. The groups are working. I hear out reports on the progress virtually every day. We need to be ready on 90% of the document by my meeting with Dmitry Medvedev,” Sergei Rumas said.

The agenda of the meeting also included the forthcoming Union State Council of Ministers meeting, other issues.
