Union State forecast meat and milk balance sheets almost ready

MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – The Union State forecast meat and milk balance sheets for 2018 are almost ready, Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, told BelTA.

Commenting on the results of the technical consultations with representatives of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, which took place in the format of a video conference on 27 April, Aleksei Bogdanov said that Belarus and Russia coordinated the balance sheets for the supplies of milk powder, butter, cheese, curd, concentrated milk and whole-milk products. “We just need to agree on skimmed milk powder and whey. The two countries synchronized their mutual meat supplies. Thus, we are almost ready with the Union State forecast meat and milk supply and demand balance sheets and hope on their final coordination during the forthcoming visit of the Russian delegation to Minsk,” Aleksei Bogdanov said.

In his words, Belarus will continue consultations with its Russian counterparts to determine common approaches to monitoring prices on the Union State dairy market, controling imports to the Russian Federation, limiting the turnover of palm oil, cheese and milk products from third countries, amending technical regulations on milk, and assigning the veterinary services with powers to control the import of palm oil and cheese-like products.

As BelTA reported earlier, Belarus is determined to keep the volume of its supplies to Russia at the level of 2017.
