Turchin announces visit of Uzbekistan’s president to Belarus on 8-9 July

MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan intends to pay a visit to Belarus on 8-9 July, Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin announced this to journalists following his report to President Aleksandr Lukashenko of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

During the meeting, the prime minister briefed the head of state on the results of his recent working trip to Uzbekistan and the talks held there with that country’s leader. According to Aleksandr Turchin, the discussions included bilateral relations, which are developing successfully and dynamically, as well as plans for the upcoming visit of the president of Uzbekistan.

It has been confirmed that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Minsk on 8-9 July. “We are looking forward to welcoming the president,” the prime minister said.

In his opinion, the upcoming visit will bring the relations between the two countries to a new stage. “I think that this year the order to achieve a billion-dollar trade will be fulfilled. The goal has been set to double it by 2030. An ambitious task. We need to make a lot of effort,” Aleksandr Turchin said.

As it was reported, the Belarusian prime minister was on a working visit to Uzbekistan on 16-17 June, where he held talks with the president of the country. Aleksandr Turchin also addressed the plenary session of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
