MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – The Minsk meeting between Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi resulted in a signing of a series of documents, BelTA has learned.
These documents include a declaration on guiding principles for countering unilateral coercive measures and for mitigating and eliminating their negative consequences.
In a statement to the press following the talks, Maxim Ryzhenkov emphasized that Belarus and Iran, as states under sanctions pressure, condemn the use of economic restrictions that violate international law, harm ordinary people, and provoke an escalation of tensions.
“In this regard, I am pleased to note the successful cooperation of our countries within the SCO and BRICS to advance our national interests in these international forums, which represent the voice of the global majority,” the Belarusian foreign minister stated.
Additionally, a declaration on strengthening the role of international law in international relations, as well as a cooperation program between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Iran for 2026-2030, were signed.
