Tentative plans to open representative office of China’s Shaanxi Province in Belarus

MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – Belarus suggests that the Chinese province Shaanxi should open a representative office in the country, BelTA learned from representatives of the Belarusian Economy Ministry after Deputy Economy Minister Yelena Perminova met with Shaanxi Province Vice Governor Zhao Gang.

The sides discussed prospects of establishing a Shaanxi Province subpark in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone as well as joint efforts to attract new resident companies. In a bid to advance interregional cooperation, establish economic, cultural, and tourism ties the Chinese side was invited to consider the possibility of opening a representative office of the province in Belarus.

Previous agreements on the participation of a circus group from Shaanxi Province in the 28th international art festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk were reaffirmed.

The day before the Chinese delegation took part in the Belt and Road Forum for Regional Cooperation and Development in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. The delegation includes representatives of 16 major companies among other people.

Shaanxi Province is located virtually in the center of China. The Silk Road Economic Belt, which connects Asia and Europe, crosses the province.
