Tajikistan’s trade unions study Belarus’ practices in workers’ rights protection

DUSHANBE, 15 May (BelTA) – A delegation of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan is studying the work of their Belarusian counterparts to protect the rights of workers, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus.

Tajikistan’s trade union leaders visited the headquarters of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus and met with its chairman Mikhail Orda. In the coming days the Tajikistani delegation is to attend lectures at the International University MITSO and to tour Belarus’ industry giants, like BelAZ, Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, Beltelecom’s Center of Information and Communication Technologies. They are also scheduled to meet with Belarusian trade union activists.

The Tajikistani delegation will study some organizational matters related to the protection of rights and interests of workers and will get familiar with the best practices of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus. The representatives of Tajikistan’s trade unions have plans to sign bilateral cooperation agreements with industry-based branches of Belarusian trade unions and to introduce their best practices in Tajikistan.

As a result of their visit to Belarus, the Tajikistani trade union activists will receive certificates of advanced training.
