MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Belarus Dominique Gazuy discussed the start of the work on implementing the Paris Climate Agreement during the meeting in the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 2 June, the Ministry’s press service told BelTA.
The sides spoke in positive terms about the degree of interaction of all partners in the course of development of the new global document on climate that was signed by the UN member states in New York in April 2016.
Apart from that, the diplomats mentioned the importance of continued joint work of government agencies, international organizations, scientific circles and public associations for the sake of creating mechanisms to implement the Paris Climate Agreement.
Valentin Rybakov underlined that Belarus considers the implementation of international projects and programs on climate change as a very promising area. At the end of the meeting the sides expressed readiness to continue cooperation in these matters at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
