Status of Belarusian-Turkish research center project reviewed in Minsk

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) - The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus reviewed the progress in the project to set up a Belarusian-Turkish research center, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).

Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Belarus Mustafa Özcan.

They toured the NASB exhibition of latest scientific achievements for the manufacturing sector.

During the talks, the parties reviewed the progress in the project to set up the joint Belarusian-Turkish research center at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Its main tasks will be to coordinate and conduct joint research, individual projects in the field of historical, cultural and philosophical heritage of Belarus and Türkiye, to teach the Turkish language and to translate works by Turkish and Belarusian writers, scientists into the Belarusian and Turkish languages.

The center is slated for opening in the first half of 2023. The parties also discussed the possibility of signing a new roadmap for cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Research Council of Türkiye for the next period.
