MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – Serbian Premier Aleksandar Vucic expressed gratitude to the authorities and people of Belarus for the help provided in the country's flooded regions, BelTA learnt from the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.
Belarus provides Serbia with humanitarian and technical assistance following the President’s instructions. In particular, on 18 May the Il-76 aircraft brought motor pumps, diesel power plants, electric generators, frame tents, blankets, food to Belgrade. Two Mi-8 emergency helicopters with four rescue teams onboard headed to Serbia as well.
Belarusian specialists have all necessфary equipment to provide help in flooded areas.
The Balkans has been struck by the heaviest floods over the past 120 years. The natural calamity has caused havoc in Croatia, Bosnia and Romania. Bosnia is the worst suffered region so far with over 25,000 people evacuated and more than 2,200 facilities submerged.
