MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) – At the initiative of Minsk, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov held a telephone conversation with his Venezuelan counterpart Yván Gil Pinto, BelTA reports citing the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“During the conversation, the Belarusian foreign minister expressed support for the Venezuelan government’s position on sovereignty, the preservation of the legitimately elected government, and Caracas’ initiatives, including in international organizations,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
In turn, Yván Gil Pinto informed his Belarusian counterpart about U.S. strikes on a number of military and civilian targets in Venezuela, as well as the current situation in the country.
In accordance with the Venezuelan constitution, the power in the country will pass to Vice President Delcy Rodríguez.
