MOSCOW, 25 September (BelTA) – An Oreshnik [hazelnut] missile system is already on the way to Belarus. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the international forum World Atomic Week in Moscow on 25 September, BelTA has learned.
The reporters asked the head of state whether Oreshnik missile systems had been delivered to Belarus. “Already on the way. Everything will be okay,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
BelTA reported earlier that during a meeting on the Valaam Island on 1 August the presidents of Belarus and Russia reaffirmed plans to deliver Oreshnik missile systems to Belarus by the end of the year. It was stated back then that Belarusian and Russian military specialists had selected the future deployment site.
