MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – Russian military specialists were made familiar with accomplishments of Belarusian geodesists in creating and operating a satellite-powered precision-positioning system, the press service of the State Property Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
A delegation of the Military Topography Office of the General Staff of the Russian army led by Alexander Zaliznyuk visited the Belarusian company Belgeodesy. Yuri Logvinovich, Chief of the Navigation and Topography Service of the Armed Forces, Chief of the Navigation and Topography Office of the General Staff of the Belarusian army, took part in the meeting.
The visit was meant to expand international cooperation, share the best practices, and study capabilities of the Belarusian company. The Russian delegation was made familiar with accomplishments of Belarusian geodesists in creating and operating a satellite-powered precision-positioning system. Modern technologies used to create, update state topographic maps in digital and analog forms were presented.
