Romanian parliament sets up group of friendship with Belarus

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – A working group on cooperation with the Parliament of Belarus has been set up in the Parliament of Romania. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Belarus Viorel Mosanu and Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Boleslav Pirshtuk, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

The parties spoke in favor of further development of bilateral relations on a reciprocal basis. An agreement was reached to intensify an exchange of visits between the legislative bodies of the two states at the level of working groups. “Viorel Mosanu informed Boleslav Pirshtuk that in April 2017 a group of friendship with Belarus was set up in the Romanian parliament. The group is headed by Senator Ioan-Cristian Chirtes,” the press service said.

The participants of the meeting shared the opinion on the need to strengthen regional dialogue between Belarus and Romania for further development of trade and economic cooperation on a wide range of issues.

The parties also talked over cooperation between MPs within international organizations, including the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
