MINSK, 10 January (BelTA) – Romania has been invited to participate in the forthcoming European and CIS forum of national coordinators in charge of reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The forum will take place in Minsk on 21-22 February, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
The invitation was extended as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Romania Andrei Grinkevich met with Laszlo Borbely, State Advisor to the prime minister of Romania, coordinator of the Sustainable Development Department of Romania. Laszlo Borbely said he would like to participate in the forum. He spoke highly of Belarus’ initiative on establishing cooperation between national institutions and the mechanisms for reaching the SDGs in the region.
The sides informed each other about national efforts to reach the SDGs. An agreement on establishing cooperation in this sphere was reached. Andrei Grinkevich and Laszlo Borbely also discussed a large number of matters concerning Belarus-Romania cooperation and the international agenda.
Apart from that, Andrei Grinkevich held a brief presentation of Belarus’ trade, economic, investment, tourism, and education potential.
