Putin sends greetings to Lukashenko on occasion of Belarus and Russia Unity Day

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin sent greetings to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of the Day of Unity between the Peoples of Russia and Belarus, BelTA learned from the Kremlin press service.

“This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Union State Treaty. Since that time, our countries have made great headway in developing mutually beneficial cooperation and integration. We have been implementing large-scale joint projects in trade and economy, humanitarian sphere, science and technology, and other sectors, have been expanding interregional interaction. Coordination of efforts in foreign policy and defense contributes to the strengthening of international positions of Russia and Belarus, and the security of our citizens,” the message said.

Vladimir Putin commended the level of the allied relations. The two countries can extensively discuss the most difficult issues on the bilateral agenda, find the solutions best suited to the interests of the brotherly peoples of the two countries.
