Putin: Belarus, Russia agree to boost military and military-technical cooperation

MOSCOW, 15 December (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia have agreed to boost military and military-technical cooperation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after the negotiations with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Moscow on 15 December, BelTA has learned.

"In order to strengthen regional stability and security we have agreed to boost military and military-technical cooperation," the Russian President said.

He emphasized that Belarus and Russia conduct a coordinated foreign policy in the international arena. “We noted that our countries have similar positions on such matters as resolving the Ukraine crisis and combating international terrorism in Syria,” Vladimir Putin said.

He added that topical matters on the bilateral and international agenda were touched upon during the talks. “Keeping in mind the upcoming CSTO summit to be held on 21 December, we have focused on matters of security and stability on the outer borders of the organization and joint fight against terrorism,” Vladimir Putin said.
