Prospects for digital economy ministry in Belarus discussed at president’s meeting

MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – The prospects of setting up the Digital Economy Ministry was discussed by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Chairman of the Business Promotion Council, head of the Council of Ministers Office Alexander Turchin on 27 March, BelTA informs.

“I would like to consult with you regarding digital economy and a so-called digital ministry. The proposal has been put forward by entrepreneurs. In your opinion, do we need a new digital economy ministry?” the president asked. “Businessmen suggested financing it in full and even more. Or, maybe, we need a certain reform and unite the ministries that will go digital in the future and create a powerful ministry, a ministry of the future,” the head of state added.

As BelTA earlier reported, the head of state mentioned the possibility of setting up the Digital Economy Ministry in Belarus.
