Preparations for second regional forum in Great Stone discussed

MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – Preparations for the second regional forum Belt and Road which is due to take place in the Great Stone Industrial Park in 2020 have been discussed in Beijing, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in China.

The issue was considered among other things at the meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Nikolai Snopkov with Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sinomach Corporation Zhang Xiaolun. “The parties discussed current projects of bilateral cooperation, including the scientific and technological project Fakel (Torch) in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, the groundbreaking ceremony of which took place on 12 May. As for the forthcoming second regional forum Belt and Road, the main topic of which is to be the Chinese traditional and innovative medicine, the parties discussed the involvement of Chinese pharmaceutical and medical companies in the industrial park,” representatives of the embassy said.

Nikolai Snopkov emphasized Belarus’ focus on trade, economic and investment cooperation with China and also the role of strategic partners such as Sinomach and other Chinese corporations in the establishment of a new history of relations between Belarus and China. The diplomat thanked the Chinese corporation for the humanitarian medical aid (21,000 protective suits) provided to Belarus.

Zhang Xiaolun mentioned the ten-year history of cooperation between Sinomach and Belarus and expressed China’s readiness for strategic partnership and friendship, further development of the Great Stone Industrial Park.
