BARANOVICHI, 13 January (BelTA) - The next meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State may be held in February, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told reporters in Baranovichi, BelTA has learned.

"I think that the Russian prime minister and I will soon set the date. At the suggestion of the Standing Committee of the Union State, most likely, it will take place in February, somewhere in the middle of the month, I think," Roman Golovchenko noted. It is expected that the meeting will be held in the Russian Federation.

According to him, the meeting will focus on all issues of current cooperation, including those that were discussed during the meeting of the two presidents in December. "Following these meetings, specific instructions were given. We put together a matrix for the implementation of the agreements by both sides. Now government officials are working on them. Therefore, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State we will sum up the results of this work. We will see how the instructions of the presidents are being fulfilled and review the results of the first stage of the Union State programs. We will look into the issues that have not yet found their solution and, of course, we will discuss the plan of action for this year," the prime minister specified.

Work with Russian colleagues is continuous at all levels: between ministries, members and heads of governments. "Meetings are regular. Russian delegations visit Belarus, Belarusian ones - Russia. Next week, the finance ministries will have a meeting in the Russian Federation," Roman Golovchenko added.

On 13 January, the head of government visited the Baranovichi Cotton Production Amalgamation. He toured the production facility to see the technological process of industrial production of cotton fabrics. A meeting with the participation of the prime minister reviewed the company’s performance in 2022 and discussed its development strategy until 2028. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik, Chairman of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee Yuri Shuleiko, and Chairwoman of the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom Tatiana Lugina.
