Pakistan Prime Minister to pay official visit to Belarus on 10-12 August

MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) - Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif will travel to Belarus on an official visit on 10-12 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

It is expected that the Prime Minister will hold a series of meetings, visit some machine-building enterprises, and hold talks with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

Nawaz Sharif will also give a brief lecture to students and professors of the Belarusian State University.

The Belarus-Pakistan Business Forum will be held as part of the program of the official visit of the Pakistan Prime Minister to Minsk.

In May this year Pakistan hosted Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on an official visit. The Belarusian head of state held talks with Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The Belarusian President was accompanied by a large delegation comprising ministers and businessmen, managers of major state-run and private companies. Agreements were reached on the establishment of joint ventures in both countries. In Islamabad the parties signed a package of two dozen documents aimed at enhancing the cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan in various fields, including industry, agriculture and food, science and technology, investment, information and communication, education.
