Over RUB3bn to be earmarked for Union State programs in 2018

MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – More than RUB3 billion will be allocated for the Union State programs in 2018, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota told the media prior to a meeting with representatives of the Belarusian governmental customers of the programs in defense, security, law enforcement, military-technical cooperation and defense industry, BelTA has learned.

“All in all, we will implement 11 Union State programs in 2018. Over RUB3 billion will be earmarked to implement them in 2018. Another program is in the pipeline. It might be adopted within the next two to three months,” Grigory Rapota said.

He also stressed that the Union State programs are highly efficient. “Fro example, a program results in an innovative product. Its use in industry and the profits it brings are an indicator of effectiveness. This also concerns the development of new materials, for example, high molecular polyethylene for the programs titled as Composite and Kompomat. These are very good projects. The material is even used in the oil industry,” the State Secretary of the Union State added.

The meeting will consider progress made in the implementation of the Union State programs in the areas of defense, security, law enforcement, military-technical cooperation and defense industry in 2017. The participants of the meeting will also discuss the drafting of concepts for the Union State new programs and events in the above-mentioned areas, and also the Belarusian-Russian cooperation in sci-tech and military-technical sectors. Taking part in the meeting are representatives of law enforcement agencies of Belarus, ministries of industry, economy, finance, and education, Belneftekhim Concern, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the Standing Committee of the Union State.
