“Interregional cooperation with Chinese towns and provinces is strengthening all over Belarus. Novopolotsk has already twinned with Chinese Weihai. Now we are expanding ties and have invited new potential partners from Heihe, the town with the population of two million. The delegation including six representatives of the administrative apparatus led by the secretary of the committee of the Communist Party of China in Heihe has arrived in Novopolotsk on a familiarization visit and will stay till 9 June,” the representatives of the Novopolotsk Town Hall explain.

In the morning, the guests were greeted by Novopolotsk Mayor Dmitry Demidov. After that they visited a number of important cultural and social facilities such as the Museum of History and Culture of Novopolotsk, the territorial center of social security, the Novopolotsk central hospital, the Polotsk State University and other educational institutions, including the Olympic training school. The delegation will also visit a number of enterprises such as OAO Naftan, Polymir, SOOO LLK-Naftan, OAO Izmeritel, the health resort of OAO Naftan, the tourism complex Krasny Bor. The versatile program will help Chinese guests get information about the development of all walks of life in Novopolotsk and find points for cooperation.

“We hope that a protocol of intent will be signed as a result of the visit. We also hope that in the future Novopolotsk will have one more twin town in China,” BelTA learned from the Novopolotsk Town Hall.
