North Korean Foreign Minister to visit Belarus on 8-12 March

MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) - North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Su-yong is expected to pay an official visit to Belarus on 8-12 March, spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Mironchik told media on 5 March, BelTA has learned.

The North Korean official is set to meet with Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei. Besides, the North Korean delegation will hold a meeting in the Belarusian government.

It is expected that the parties will discuss a wide range of issues related to the Belarusian-North Korean relations, including the political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation and collaboration in education and healthcare.

The North Korean delegation will visit industrial companies, cultural and historical facilities of Minsk and Minsk Oblast.

According to Dmitry Mironchik, the diplomatic relations between North Korea and Belarus were established in the early 1990s. The North Korean Ambassador to Russia is on concurrent accreditation in Belarus. He has not presented his credentials to the Belarusian head of state yet.
