Nicaragua viewed as important partner of Belarus

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Nicaragua is an important partner for Belarus and both have a successful history of cooperation, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Denis Moncada Colindres of Nicaragua in Minsk on 18 October, BelTA has learned.

“We are two small countries. We both have no geopolitical ambitions, which is why it is imperative to stay loyal to each other, be reliable partners towards one another,” Vladimir Makei said.

“We have absolutely the same interests. We want our peoples to live in peace and tranquility, we want our countries to live in peace, and we want nobody to interfere in our way of development,” the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs said.

Vladimir Makei thanked the Nicaraguan side for the prompt organization of this official visit to Minsk, as such an agreement was reached just about a couple of weeks ago during the UN General Assembly.

For his part, Denis Moncada Colindres conveyed the warmest greetings from the president of Nicaragua. He expressed confidence that his visit to Belarus would help intensify relations between the two countries.
