NASB, University of Belgrade to step up cooperation in astrophysical plasma studies

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation participating in the 16th Serbian-Belarusian symposium on physics and diagnostics of laboratory and astrophysical plasma met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Serbia Sergei Malinovsky, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Serbia.

The visit of the group of Belarusian scientists to Belgrade became a continuation of long-standing scientific cooperation between the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Faculty of Physics at University of Belgrade. The cooperation has been going on for more than 30 years already.

During the conversation at the embassy the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission informed the researchers from the NASB Institute of Physics and representatives of the Faculty of Physics at University of Belgrade about the current friendly cooperation between Belarus and Serbia in various fields. He mentioned the importance of the positive experience of long-term contacts between the scientific communities of the two countries in the field of physics and the importance of further development of the relations.

The sides exchanged views on possibilities of expanding interaction between specialized research institutions of the two countries, of implementing bilateral projects, and participating in thematic international conferences.

The itinerary of the Belarusian delegation’s stay in Belgrade includes participation in the International Symposium on the Physics of Ionized Gases (SPIG 2026) at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
