Myasnikovich to head Belarusian delegation at Turkish president inauguration ceremony

MINSK, 9 July (BelTA) – The inauguration ceremony of President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be held in Ankara on 9 July, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Turkey.

Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Mikhail Myasnikovich will head the Belarusian delegation at the inauguration ceremony. Mikhail Myasnikovich is scheduled to meet with acting speaker of the Turkish Parliament Ismail Kahraman. The new speaker will be elected on 13 July 2018.

Mikhail Myasnikovich is also set to meet with members of the Turkish government and heads of foreign delegations.

Many foreign delegations, including those from the CIS countries, Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East, have confirmed their participation in the inauguration ceremony. According to the preliminary information, the ceremony will be attended by 25 presidents, 5 speakers of parliaments, 10 prime ministers and a number of delegations at the ministerial level.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan will swear the oath at 6:00pm local time on 9 July and will address the foreign dignitaries, representatives of the diplomatic missions, MPs, well-known personalities from business, culture and sports of Turkey, and representatives of the press.

Earlier it was reported that after the speech, the president will announce the composition of the cabinet. According to the amendments made to the constitution, the post of the prime minister will be abolished.
