Myasnikovich to attend Belarusian-U.S. investment forum in New York 22 September

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich will take part in the first Belarusian-U.S. investment forum, which will be held in New York (United States) on 22 September. Mikhail Myasnikovich made this announcement as he met with UN/UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus Sanaka Samarasinha on 15 September, BelTA has learned.

The forum will become an open platform for discussing relevant aspects of investment cooperation between the government officials and potential investors.

Sanaka Samarasinha considers the dynamics of the economic development of Belarus as impressive. He noted that there is a growing awareness on the part of potential partners about the benefits of cooperating with Belarus. "I am absolutely convinced that the first Belarusian-U.S. investment forum will be extremely successful. The people who are willing to look beyond political issues are primarily interested in economic cooperation. They will see the things that will attract them. I am sure that many of the forum participants will come later to Minsk for further discussions,” Sanaka Samarasinha said.

To consolidate on the results of the forum, Sanaka Samarasinha said he is ready to assist with the implementation of various initiatives because the "economic development of Belarus benefits the country, helps develop the regions and is good for the global development as a whole,” he said.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus will also take part in the UN Climate Summit which will be held in New York on 23 September. "We are bringing certain initiatives, proposals to New York," said Mikhail Myasnikovich.
