Mutual support on international arena named important part of Belarus-Cuba dialogue

Mutual support on international arena named important part of Belarus-Cuba dialogue

MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – Fruitful interaction and mutual support in international organizations, primarily the United Nations, remains an important part of Belarus-Cuba open dialogue, as the two countries seek to promote sustainable development and strengthen global security, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov said at an event held in the House of Friendship on 14 April to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Cuba, BelTA informs.

“Belarus and Cuba joined efforts to help address pressing global issues, counter new challenges and threats, jointly promote a new, fair world order based on multi-polarity and strict observance of international law and the UN Charter, social equality and mutual respect,” the deputy foreign minister said.

According to him, Belarus has always advocated the right of every state to independent and sovereign development, therefore it invariably supports the fair struggle of the Island of Freedom against the illegal American embargo.

“We are sincerely grateful to our Cuban friends, the leadership of Cuba for their unconditional support of Belarus that found itself on the receiving end of an information and economic war unleashed by Western countries,” Evgeny Shestakov emphasized.

He also said that Belarus highly appreciates the practical assistance provided by Cuban friends to Belarus that  seeks to intensify cooperation with countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and regional integration associations.
