MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) - Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin will visit Belarus to attend the Days of Moscow in Minsk and the 3rd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia on 7-8 June, spokesperson for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told reporters on 2 June, BelTA has learned.

The Moscow Mayor will take part in the opening of the Moscow-Belarusian Forum of Business Cooperation, visit the exhibition-presentation of passenger, road-building and utilities vehicles. Belarus and Moscow are set to sign a plan of action to bolster trade, economic, science, humanitarian, cultural and social ties for 2016 -2018.

The parties are also gearing up to formalize the range and amount of food supplies from Belarus to Moscow in 2017 and salt supplies from Belarus in Moscow in 2017. The documents will be signed by the Belgospishcheprom food industry concern and the Department of Trade and Services of Moscow.

In 2015 the trade between Belarus and Moscow made up $3.1 billion, down 31.2% from 2014. Export amounted to $1.9 billion, down 33.2%. Import totaled $1.2 billion, down 27.7%. Belarus had a surplus of $0.7 billion in trade with the Russian capital.

In January-March 2016 the trade totaled $578.7 million, down 9.2% as against January-March 2015. Export came at $363.4 million, down 9.8%; import was $215.3 million, down 8.1%. Belarus had a surplus of $148.1 million.
