More vigorous Belarus-Europe relations in 2017 noted

MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ relations with European countries became more vigorous in 2017, BelTA learned from the report released by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to sum up results of the country’s foreign policy and the ministry’s efforts in 2017.

The level of official visits and their frequency increased. Negotiations became more trustful and constructive. The scope of partnership and the circle of partnership organizations expanded. New formats of cooperation were adopted. Interparliamentary contacts became more advanced. The content of contacts in various spheres was improved. The interest of representatives of business circles in ways to reach the Belarusian market and in investing in the Belarusian economy became more pronounced.

Positive trends were registered in trade with a majority of European countries, with Belarus’ export rising noticeably.

Apart from that, work to improve the legal base in various areas continued. A number of intergovernmental and interagency agreements were signed with the UK, Hungary, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Turkey.
