Minsk’s Sovetsky District, Shanghai’s Changning District sign cooperation agreement

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – Sovetsky District of Minsk and Changning District of Shanghai have signed a framework cooperation agreement, representatives of the Sovetsky District administration told BelTA.

The ceremony took place as the Chinese delegation visited Minsk on 11 September. The sides expressed interest in implementing joint projects, interaction in various spheres, and the sharing of the best practices. Gu Honghui, head of the Changning District administration, invited representatives of the Sovetsky District administration to visit Shanghai.

Representatives of five Minsk companies also attended the meeting. In particular, the holographic technology company OOO Magiya Sveta suggested cooperation in manufacturing security holograms. The telecommunications equipment manufacturer OAO Promsvyaz has already worked with Chinese partners such as ZTE and Huawei and is eager to find partners in Shanghai, including for the sake of moving the Belarusian company’s manufacturing assets into the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.

Over the course of three years OOO SOL Instruments has sold over 100 scientific instruments to China. The company intends to present its latest lasers and microscopes at a spectroscopy technology expo in Shanghai soon. Health Initiative Company suggested setting up a multifunctional medical center and an R&D center for making facial external prostheses. The business services provider Ming You presented a full range of services the operation of a foreign business in Belarus needs starting with the reception of delegations, issuance of migration documents, and ending with bookkeeping, financial, and legal services in addition to civil engineering certification services.

Cooperation between Sovetsky District and Changning District began in 1994 when the first cooperation agreement was signed. Since then the bilateral trade turnover has increased by several times. The number of Belarusian companies working with China grows higher every year. The Changning District delegation visited the R&D park Polytechnic of the Belarusian National Technical University, gymnasium No.23, and the department store TSUM on 11 September.
