MOSCOW, 1 June (BelTA) – Minsk will host the jubilee 50^th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State on 10 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly.

The MPs will take stock of twenty years' activity of the Parliamentary Assembly. “In accordance with the Treaty establishing the Community of Belarus and Russia of 2 April 1996 and the Agreement on the Parliamentary Assembly of the Community of Belarus and Russia of 29 April 1996, Smolensk hosted the first session of the Parliamentary Assembly on 25 June 1996. This year the Belarusian and Russian MPs will gather for the 50th session of the Parliamentary Assembly,” the press service informed.

The Union State MPs will discuss the joint activities, will consider the progress made in priority areas and the priorities for further development of the Union State, and will take stock of the implementation of the Union State plan of action for 2014-2015 dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 70th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from Nazi invaders.
