MINSK, 11 February (BelTA-TASS) – It is possible that the heads of the ministries of foreign affairs of Russia, Germany, France, and Ukraine will meet in Minsk before the presidential summit, BelTA learned from an informed source.
“The meeting is a possibility,” confirmed the source.
The ministers of foreign affairs of Germany, France, and Russia have already confirmed that they plan to arrive in Minsk.
A summit of the “Normandy four” is expected to take place in Minsk on 11 February. President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Ukraine President Piotr Poroshenko, France President Francois Hollande, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel intend to meet in Minsk to discuss proposals regarding the plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. The experts believe that the meeting may become the high point of the intensive multilateral efforts to find a way out of the situation in Ukraine.
Over 500 reporters have been accredited to cover the event. Those are representatives of internationally recognized mass media from Russia, the USA, France, the UK, Germany, China, and Cuba. The forthcoming meeting will also be covered by reporters from Ukraine, Japan, Czechia, Poland, Qatar, Netherlands, Spain, Georgia, Norway, Switzerland, and Italy.
