Medvedev signs order to set up Russia-Belarus working group

MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed an executive order setting up the Russian-Belarusian working group to discuss various aspects of integration and disputable points, BelTA learned from TASS.

Minister for Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin will lead the group on Russia’s behalf. The group will also include representatives of different agencies, the State Duma, the Federation Council and the Accounts Chamber.

As First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov stated after the meeting of the presidents of Russia and Belarus on 25 December, Belarus and Russia will set up an intergovernmental working group to develop proposals for integration and address issues on the Belarusian-Russian agenda. “This working group will work out proposals for our further integration and the solution of issues that concern the governments of the two countries,” said Anton Siluanov.

He added that as for gas pricing, the parties should decide for the next period starting in 2020, work out proposals for pricing this type of energy. “The working group will develop proposals for both further integration and the resolution of issues that are currently on the Russia-Belarus agenda,” said Anton Siluanov.
