MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei will speak at the UN General Assembly general political debate to show Belarus’ approaches to addressing the most acute international issues of the present day, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the visit of Vladimir Makei as head of the Belarusian governmental delegation to New York to take part in the 69^th session of the UN General Assembly will be held from 29 September through 1 October.

On 29 September the Belarusian Foreign Minister will take part in an informal high-level event on Child Protection: Sharing Responsibility and Strengthening the Protective Environment for Children organized by the Republic of Belarus. Co-organizers of the event is UNICEF, Laos, Kazakhstan, Egypt and Ecuador. The event will focus on the role of the family in child protection as well as family-related programs and strategies to secure efficient protection of children in the family environment.

The program of Vladimir Makei’s visit to New York will include bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of the UN member states to discuss the issues of expanding bilateral trade, economic and political cooperation, collaboration in international institutions and organization of bilateral visits.
