MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) - The heads of the foreign ministries of Belarus and Poland, Vladimir Makei and Radoslaw Sikorski, called for the speedy peaceful settlement of the crisis in Ukraine, BelTA learned from the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
The issue was discussed at the meeting on 28 August during a two-day working trip of Vladimir Makei to Poland. The ministers talked over the current situation in the region and considered the bilateral agenda. The Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Poland agreed to maintain contacts and hold a separate meeting on bilateral relations.
On the same day Vladimir Makei met with Polish Vice Premier, Minister of Economy Janusz Piechocinski. Attending the meeting was Deputy Foreign Minister Katarzyna Kacperczyk and Deputy Economy Minister Andrzej Dycha. The participants of the talks exchanged views on the status and prospects of the bilateral trade and investment cooperation and discussed the preparations for a meeting of the joint Belarusian-Polish commission on economic cooperation which is due to take place in Warsaw in Q4 2014.
On 29 August the Belarusian Foreign Minister held meetings with Polish businessmen to consider joint investment projects, including industrial cooperation.
